View In:   ArcGIS Online Map Viewer

Name: DMO Mine Portals and Seam Elevations (Historic)

Display Field: OBJECTID

Type: Feature Layer

Geometry Type: esriGeometryPoint

Description: <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>A layer containing the legacy point data of coal mine portal entries and coal seam elevations digitized from the historic Mylar tracking system, attributed with fields from BMP spreadsheet of Mylar index cards. Data was converted over from the physical "Mylar Review" system for mine permit location information requests. The physical topographic maps and mylar overlays of that system have been scanned, georeferenced, and vectorized to create the point layers with an index number attribute. The corresponding index card data has been entered in a spreadsheet. The point layers' attribute tables were joined with the spreadsheet. Numbers associated with points in the legacy Mylar Review system were difficult to determine if they referenced a coal seam elevation or an index number, this layer is therefore a mixture of the two. There are no planned updates for this layer, it is considered legacy data. This layer is for informational purposes only and is known not to be a complete listing of all historic mine portals.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
