A layer containing the permit boundaries of Industrial Mineral Surface Mines. Data was converted over from the physical "Mylar Review" system for surface mine permit location information requests. The physical topographic maps and mylar overlays of that system have been scanned, georeferenced, and vectorized to create the permit boundary polygons with an index number attribute. The corresponding index card data has been entered in a spreadsheet. The polygon layers’ attribute tables were joined with the spreadsheet. More recent surface mine permit boundaries and attributes were digitized directly as polygons from permit documents. This layer represents a combination of various legacy surface mine permit tracking systems.
