Service Description:

This layer represents areas in Pennsylvania that are located over or near known deposits of mineable coal. However, the Department does not have easily accessible records confirming whether or not these areas have been mined. Locations where mining has been determined not to have occurred may have been removed from this layer. The Department offers Mine Subsidence Insurance coverage for any structures located within these areas, provided the structure meets other program requirements. More information is available at: www.dep.pa.gov/msi. This layer was developed for use in the MSI Risk Webmap: https://gis.dep.pa.gov/msiRisk/.• View the data dictionary here: https://gis.dep.pa.gov/datadictionary/Mine%20Subsidence%20Insurance%20(MSI)/MSI%20Mine%20Subsidence%20Insurance%20Risk%20Mining%20(Possible).pdf
